A Rainy Afternoon with Julius & Angel

Sometimes, the weather changes the story for the better. What began as a cloudy afternoon became one of the most memorable pre-wedding sessions I've ever photographed.

When Julius and Angel told me they wanted to wear kimono in Japan, I imagined quiet streets, warm afternoon light, and peaceful moments between them. Instead, the rain arrived. At first, we waited beneath the eaves of old wooden buildings, hoping the clouds would pass. But after a while, we realized something—the rain wasn't taking anything away from the day. It was adding something we couldn't have planned. Umbrellas appeared. Reflections covered the stone paths. The streets became quieter as people disappeared indoors, leaving the city to us. Julius and Angel laughed through every unexpected moment. They didn't worry about getting wet or following a perfect schedule. They simply enjoyed being together. Looking back, those photographs feel honest. They remind me that the best stories aren't always found under perfect skies, but in the moments we choose to embrace whatever comes our way.
